T.E.E.N. (Transportation Education & Economic Network) is designed to enhance continuity in America's Transportation Workforce. This unique approach joins Local and National Workforce Investment Areas, Transportation Employers, the Trainee/Employee and the Training Entity collaboratively.
Transportation Employer Partners (local, regional & national) invest (employee training) & reinvest (dollars) into local communities through a matching funds procedure. Incumbent worker dollars are disbursed to participating employers that provide training to their workers. This training provides the employee the opportunity to advance/climb within the company. A better skilled worker (commercial driver) enhances productivity & safety within the company resulting in higher compensation.
This unique approach formally and methodically combines "Basic CDL-A Training" with "On The Job Skills Training", (1st Seat Commercial Driver Curricilum), to a skill level adequate for the entry level driver to operate an 80,000 pound tractor trailer unit safely on America's Highways. This approach, provides the transportation industry with safe and better trained drivers.
CDL Schools: A typical Commercial Driver (Truck Driver) Training School ranges anywhere between 80 Hours to 480 Hours. The training presented provides individuals with the theory and skills necessary to acquire a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Entry Level Commercial Drivers Trainees need the experience necessary to operate the 80,000 pound unit. This experience can be acquired by applying for one of the Transportation Education & Economic Network's Trucking Employer Partners.
1st Seat Driver combines the CDL training provided by the CDL School, the "Finishing/Polishing" training provided by the employer and the safe "Solo" operating of the tractor trailer unit for a thirty (30) day period culminating to the nationally recognized 1st Seat Driver Certification.
